Dog On L Train Tracks Stalls Service Monday Morning, Says MTA
A dog was found on the L train tracks near the Jefferson Avenue station early Monday morning, said the MTA.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A dog on the L train tracks was the cause delays on the Manhattan-bound line Monday morning, according to transit officials.
The canine commuter was spotted on the northbound tracks between the Jefferson and Montrose Avenue stations in Bushwick at about 3:40 a.m. Monday morning, said an MTA spokeswoman.
Trains was stalled so that the NYPD could jump onto the tracks and rescue the pup, according to the MTA.

Service resumed with residual delays about 25 minutes later, and when a concerned straphanger asked whether the dog had survived, the MTA provided good news.

This is not the first time someone's four-legged friend jumped onto the tracks in Brooklyn this year. A dog named Dakota bounded onto the F train tracks and had to be rescued in February.
