Here's Where To Go To Flee The L-Pocalypse, Bushwick

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN -- The day of L-pocalypse is nigh, Bushwick. If you're gonna flee, the time is now.

That's the message from real estate analysts at Localize.city, who used city data and rental prices to compute which New York City neighborhoods would most likely feel like home to former Bushwickers.

The report, released Tuesday, compares median asking prices for one-bedroom apartments, commute times, crime rates and park access to determine which four neighborhoods come at about the same price tag and provide a similar vibe to Bushwick.

Ridgewood

Median one-bedroom price: $1,875

Commute: Living in Ridgewood will add just 3 minutes to your commute to Manhattan.

Culture: Think Bushwick but quieter.

Chinatown

Median one-bedroom price: $2,350

Commute: You don't have to cross a river to get to work.

Culture: It's bustling with activity and if you don't like it, another neighborhood is just a five minute walk away.

Mott Haven

Median one-bedroom price: $1,700

Commute: A FiDi commute takes almost 15 minutes longer than it does from Bushwick.

Culture: You'll get more open space for less money in Mott Haven, and the prospect of living in a neighborhood becoming trendier by the minute.

Red Hook

Median one-bedroom price: $1,800

Commute: It's a longer walk but a shorter commute. The F and G station at Smith Street can be up to 20 minutes away, but it's less than a half hour to FiDi. You can also hop the ferry.

Culture: It's how Brooklyn does Narnia: secluded, quirky and you can walk to the magical castle also known as IKEA.
