L Train Menace Breaks Woman's Foot After She Wouldn't 'Swipe Him'

Police released photos of a man who demanded a free ride in a Brooklyn subway station then broke the foot of the woman who refused him.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A man demanding a MetroCard swipe in an L train station broke a woman's foot when she refused him, according to police.

The man requested a free ride from the 25-year-old woman near the turnstiles at the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenue station at 10:40 a.m. on April 13, police said.

When she declined, the man followed her into the station, shoved her to the ground, grabbed her purse (which had $250 in cash inside it) and ran away, said police.

Emergency responders took the woman to Wyckoff Hospital where she was treated for a fractured left foot, police said.

The MetroCard menace struck again about one week later, on April 19 at 9 a.m., when he snatched a 55-year-old woman's purse on a southbound L train at the Halsey Street station, police said.

Police released photos of a suspect, whom they describe as a man in his 20s, Wednesday night.
