L Trains Rush Hour Delays Caused By 'Communication Issue:' MTA

A network problem slowed L trains to a crawl Friday morning, officials and passengers reported.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Network problems along the L line slowed trains down to a crawl during Friday morning rush hour, officials said.

MTA officials blamed “a network communication issue” for delays that started on the L line — in both directions — at about 8:10 a.m.

Transit crews were sent to the Eighth Avenue station in Manhattan and the Canarsie station in Brooklyn to restore normal service, said the MTA in a tweet.

But almost two hours after first announcing the glitch, straphangers reported packed trains and long waits.
