Little MO and Baby Skips Forced To Close For 3 Months In Lieu Of M Train Shutdown
The coffee shop and Vietnamese eatery under the M train viaduct will close for three months to allow the MTA to make massive repairs.
BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Owners have been forced to temporarily shut down Little MO and Baby Skips to allow construction on the M train viaduct.
The coffee shop and Vietnamese eatery at 1158 Myrtle Ave. will close on June 30 and remain closed until Oct. 2, according to a sign posted on the front door.
“Little MO and Baby Skips will be temporarily shutting down to allow the MTA to complete the M Train Viaduct Reconstruction Project,” the sign reads.

The sign was also posted on Instagram and followers were not pleased about the news.
“Thats F'd up,” wrote chefjohncreger. “As if annnnnyone needs more reason to hate the MTA.

Emojis posted included crying faces, broken hearts, and a very small bowl of pho.

However, the Little Skips outpost promised to go out with a bang and will host a party on June 29 at 7 p.m. to celebrate its two-plus years of serving Bushwick patrons.
Organizers also promised “to stay sharp during the off season and come back with some new tricks up our sleeves."
The shutdown along the M Line — slated to begin July 1 and last until April 30, 2018 — will enable the MTA to demolish the 104-year-old Myrtle Viaduct and the Fresh Pond Bridge in Ridgewood, both of which have infrastructure that has aged and begun to crumble.
M trains service will be suspended between Myrtle Avenue-Broadway and Metropolitan Avenue from July through September and between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues and Metropolitan Avenue from September through April.
