NYers With $97K Income Qualify For 'Affordable' Bushwick Homes

A $97,000-a-year income won't prevent you from claiming these "affordable" Bushwick apartments.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A near six-figure income needn't stop you from applying for the newest batch of Bushwick apartments to hit the city's affordable housing lottery.

Six new apartments at 127 and 129 Troutman St. hit the NYC Housing Connect lottery Friday, but they're only available to households earning 130 percent of the area median income, listings show.

Two one-bedroom apartments that cost $2,049 a month are available to single people earning between $70,252 and $97,110 or couples bringing in between $70,252 and $111,020 a year, records show.

Four two-bedrooms that cost $2,399 a month are available to households of up to four people who earn between $82,252 and $138,710 a year.

Building amenities include rooftop access, a yard and a laundry room residents must pay to use.

Architect Adele Schachner of the Beam Group firm designed the building, which was developed by Moshe Friedman, Patch reported in 2018.
