Suspicious Fire Erupts In Bushwick Building: FDNY And Report

BUSHWICK, NY — The FDNY is investigating a suspicious fire that broke out in Bushwick Monday morning and spread to two neighboring buildings, according to officials and reports.

The second-alarm blaze erupted at 85 Cooper St. near Evergreen Avenue just before 1:10 a.m. and quickly spread to 83 and 87 Cooper St., said the FDNY.

Residents fled the building as more than 100 firefighters worked for about an hour to quell the flames, the FDNY said.

No one was injured in the fire and, according to a CBS New York report, the blaze is being investigated as "possibly suspicious."
