BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — A new Italian eatery and rooftop bar opened this month from the restaurateurs behind the neighborhood's critically acclaimed seafood eatery Sea Wolf.
Gemelli, a Mediterranean-Italian all day restaurant, and The Ledge, a 1970s California-inspired rooftop bar, launched on the corner of Starr Street and Cypress Avenue on June 4, owners said.
“We're looking to the west for inspiration," said owner Daniel Cipriani. "Looking to lighten up both in the space, the food, and the tone of what we’re trying to do.”

The Gemelli menu features sharable Italian staples such as fritto misto, homemade pastas including cacio e pepe, and stacks of ricotta pancakes at brunch.
And The Ledge's drinks menu gives a nod to summer with cocktails such as the Kool Keith, which combines Lilet, blueberry puree, and prosecco, and the spicy Fire Bird which features Tanteo jalapeno tequila, mezcal, Campari, lime, cinnamon syrup, and pineapple.

“At its core, The Ledge is fancy cocktails without the snobbery,” says Cipriani. “The time for sipping cocktails in a dark, church like bar is over.”
Gemelli at 50 Cypress Avenue opens daily at 11 a.m. and The Ledge at 321 Starr St. opens for drinks and snacks at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends.
