BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — An iconic Bushwick cafe must leave its home of 10 years after the landlord doubled the rent, according to a new report.

Little Skips will close its doors on Willoughby and Myrtle avenues on Aug. 26 and will not reopen in a new location, owner Linda Thach told Bushwick Daily.

“I’ve exhausted my options,” Thach reportedly said. “ I have not been able to find a solution that I feel comfortable with.”

Little Skips first opened in Bushwick in 2009 and has since became a favorite spot among locals, who come to drink coffee, work on new projects and attend open mics, art exhibits and more.

Thach expanded the business to include Little Skips East at 1643 Broadway and Baby Skips at 1158 Myrtle Ave.

She told Bushwick Daily closing the Willoughby Avenue branch means 20 employees will lose their jobs.

"“It makes me sad," said Thach. “We’ve been a part of so many people’s lives and stories."
