Take a Look Inside the new Coffee Laboratory in Bushwick Inspired by "Breaking Bad"

In a subtle nod to 'Breaking Bad,' Walter's Coffee now open in Bushwick; a chemistry lab-style coffee-house.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — There's now a coffee laboratory in Bushwick that roasts up beans and serves coffee in the spirit of "Breaking Bad" in a sleek/minimalist chemistry-lab setting.

Walter's Coffee was founded in Istanbul, Turkey in March 2015 when owner, Deniz Kosan, realized his dream to open the first of a mini global chain of modern coffee shops geared toward mobile freelancers and coffee aficionados.

The Brooklyn-edition of Walter's Coffee opened at 65 Irving Avenue in August and a third opening is planned this fall at the Dubai Mall in Dubai, UAE.

The cafe has ample communal seating with an outdoor deck area for the warmer months, and promises "free and fast WiFi," encouraging mobile freelancers to visit. Eater NY reports: "Besides roasting its own coffee, Walter's Coffee Roasters makes its own pastries, including apple pie, pancakes, and chocolate cake."

Update: According to Walter's Coffee, they do not make their own baked goods. They do carry pastries from Balthazar.
