CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A new gallery opening on Court Street will celebrate its first weekend with a performance by a 10-year-old violin prodigy, the new spot announced.

The gallery, called "At Peace," will open the doors to its 3,200-square-foot storefront at 554 Court St. on Friday, along with its first exhibit of featured artists.

The three featured artists will walk the gallery space and talk with guests in between three musical acts by Ines Maro, the 10-year-old Spanish musician who will be making her global public debut. Maro will be performing with the Madid Philharmonic Orchestra later in the month.

The opening is the first step for the new space, which will eventually include an organic tea house. The teahouse, which will be added to the space in January, is part of owner Howard Spann's vision of creating a space to foster creativity, he said.

“It’s very exciting for me to see my vision for At Peace come to life as a gallery showcasing important artists with an environment meant to nurture new ideas; an environment which will be become more fully realized with the soon-to-be tea house,” Spann said.

Free tea will be served throughout November as the gallery gets up and running. Maro's performance will kick off a month of free exhibits and performances by international women artists.

Maro will perform works by Bach, Haydn, Kreisler and the Monti Czardas throughout the three-hour performance, which will start at 7 p.m. The pieces are inspired by her idol Yehudi Menuhin, organizers said.
