CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — The brownstone at 410 Clinton St. is no longer just another rectangle in a row.
As neighbors have been noticing for the past week or so, 410 Clinton now houses the secretive work den of A.R. Chesin, a 9-year-old private detective for whom "no case is too small" and no case more costly to crack than 25 cents per day. ("Plus expenses.")

DNAinfo sat down with Det. Chesin, real name Alex Roth, at his home offices this week to get to know the boy behind the yard sign.
"He’s waiting for someone to knock on the door and hire him to solve a mystery," the boy's father, local attorney Scott Chesin, who reportedly gave his son the sign for Hanukkah, told the local news site.

"But," he said, "it hasn’t happened yet.”
