BQE Car Fire Caused By Gas Tank Spill Injures 1: FDNY

The spill caused two fires early Friday morning on the BQE.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A ruptured gas tank caused a car fire on the BQE early Friday morning that left one person injured, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. in a tractor trailer hauling a gas tank, the FDNY said. The tank was ruptured and the truck caught fire, according to the FDNY.

Another car nearby also caught fire because of the spill, the FDNY said.

The fire was placed under control about two hours later, according to the FDNY. One person was injured and refused medical attention at the scene, the FDNY said.
