Brooklyn Authors Celebrate Cookbook Release of 'Ultimate Nachos'
These are nacho grandma's nachos.

Think you know nachos? Two Brooklynites have assembled a collection of 84 recipes in a new cookbook that may test the boundaries of your tastebuds, if not your definition of the dish.
Authors and nacho enthusiasts Lee Frank and Rachel Anderson knew their favorite party food was more than the ubiquitous "neon-yellow-cheese-smothered snack" so often seen at various establishments. So they took their passion to the road, taste-testing platters all around New York City and hosting "Guactacular," a nachos recipe competition that attracted more than 300 attendants at its debut five years ago.
Now the product of their passions is featured in a full-color tome, Ultimate Nachos, with recipes that range from Fried Calamari Nachos to Philly Cheesesteak variations, Pork Ginger style or even Poached Pear Gorgonzola Dessert Nachos. So, naturally the pair are throwing a few parties to celebrate.
Head to 61 Local tonight from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., for a chance to try samples from the book "including nachos using a torch, guacamole, and vegan white bean queso from the Brooklyn Salsa Company" and chips supplied by Food Should Taste Good, according to the Nachos NY site. As of midday on Tuesday, 158 people had RSVP'd to the event invitation on Facebook.
But that's not your only chance to check out the cool creations. BookCourt will be hosting a cookbook signing event for Ultimate Nachos on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. too.
Swing by to see what creativity nachos obsession wrought.
