"We're talking more adoptions, education, outreach, rescue work and events," owners wrote. "We are so excited to expand our reach, really dig in to the community and create a more permanent space."

Brooklyn Cat Cafe, a community space where locals can come to hang out with someone furry, quickly became a neighborhood favorite after opening in May, 2016.

Brooklyn Cat Cafe made national headlines in 2017 when news broke that a pair of rats named Emile and Remy were taking care of a herd of unruly kittens.

The Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition' cafe not only provides quality feline time, but also helps pair rescued cats with foster homes and potential adoptees. In one year, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe saw 35,000 visitors and found homes for more than 250 cats, according to the cafe website.

The neighborhood's affection for the Brooklyn Cat Cafe was witnessed by Instagram's response to news of the move.

"My daughter will miss her daily window visits," Instagram user eathere2 wrote in response to the news. "We will miss being your neighbor too!"

"Oh please stay close," pleaded spidermcg.

Fakemewsbk advised, "The cats are terrible at packing."
