Car-Free Weekend Walks Return To Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

COBBLE HILL, BROOKLYN — For the 12th year, some of the city's busiest streets will close down to cars for various Weekend Walk events, including some in Cobble Hill and its neighbors.

A Weekend Walk event in June on Court Street, from Atlantic Avenue to Bergen Street, will be one of 120 car-free events to promote the use of streets as public space. The program, which is held by DOT and 56 partnering organizations, will cover 14 miles of New York City between May and December.

The events will feature family-friendly activities, active lifestyle programming and support local businesses, DOT said.
