CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A local coffee shop on Henry Street has been closed down by health inspectors who found "filth flies" and other sanitary violations in the cafe, records show.

The cafe, Henry's Local, was given 41 violation points by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene after an inspection on Monday, records show. Any score more than 28 points requires the department to close the business.

Inspectors visiting the coffee shop found that there were filth flies, which are associated with sewage, in the restaurant. They also gave the restaurant a violation for contaminated food and because the facility was not vermin-proof, records show.
