Carroll Gardens CSA Pre-Season Event Postponed

Plus, information for those interested in signing up.

In anticipation of inclement weather, The Carroll Gardens CSA has postponed their pre-season event scheduled for this weekend. Please read their announcement below:

Due to the probability of showers and thunderstorms, the Carroll Gardens CSA has postponed their pre-season event originally scheduled for this Saturday, May 11, 10am-12pm to the following Saturday, May 18 in the Transit Garden, corner of 2nd Place and Smith Street.

This is an informational event for current share-holders and all members of the Carroll Gardens community who would like to learn more about the CSA. A representative from Garden of Eve Farm—the CSA’s farm partner—will be on hand and the CSA Core Group will be available as well.

In addition, there will be representatives of and samples from local vendors that the Carroll Gardens CSA offers to share-holders in addition to the organic produce, fresh fruit, eggs, flowers, meat and cheese that Garden of Eve produces and distributes through the CSA. Vendors this year will include Barry’s Tempeh (their third year as part of the CSA).

Please note: Village Fishmonger will not be an attending vendor, though a replacement is likely, and Crop to Cup Coffee. In previous years we have partnered with OMilk and Saxelby Cheesemonger, and anticipate that at least one of them will be part of our CSA this year.

Carroll Gardens CSA is also currently open to new share-holders! Subscriptions are available through May 31, 2013, and we encourage those interested to subscribe quickly, as the CSA is 70% full as of May 6 (see following paragraph for how to subscribe).
