
On December 10, two cops from the on Union Street were stationed in the 63 Precinct in Flatlands where a recent brash of crime had been taking place.
Around 9 p.m., Officers Carl Bredy and Richard Taveras went inside a Capital One bank on Ralph Avenue and Avenue K. A woman whispered to them, "The bank is being held up." The officers saw a man in a mask and with a bag and ordered him to the ground, successfully saving the bank from being robbed and catching and arresting a criminal.
Last night at the Community Council meeting at the precinct, Captain Jack Lewis awarded the officers the Cop of the Month honor.
