Escaped Boerum Hill Prisoner Caught Friday Morning: Cops
The man, who was accused of child abuse, escaped at 45 Nevins Street just before midnight Thursday.

BOERUM HILL, BROOKLYN — A man who escaped police custody late Thursday night in Boerum Hill has been caught, police said Friday morning.
The man, who NBC New York identified as Truman Castillo, was being escorted by an officer at the 84th Precinct station at 45 Nevins Street when he escaped from the building just before midnight, police said. Castillo was being held on child abuse charges, police said.
Police found him around 7 a.m. the next day. Police did not immediately have details about how he was re-captured.

Castillo was at least the third prisoner to escape police custody this year, including another man who also broke free from Boerum Hill officers. That time, which happened in late January, police searched for an attempted rape suspect who pulled away from officers on Schermerhorn Street for two days before re-capturing him.
Another prisoner escaped police in Coney Island just after the New Year by leaping from a second-story window.
