CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Residents in Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill have a chance to try out some of the best food in their neighborhood.
Tastes of Brooklyn is hosting a "food crawl" in the neighborhoods on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 3 to 8 p.m. People can buy tickets to sample dishes and beverages at either four or eleven of the more than 20 local restaurants participating.
Participants include D'Amico Coffee Roasters, Caputo's Bakery, Avlee Greek Kitchen and Scotto's Wine Cellar.

Proceeds benefit Seeds in the Middle, a charity that teaches fourth graders about sustainable food.
"The idea to do the crawl came with talking to some of the older businesses about how to better promote the local places because the neighborhood’s changing so much," said Nancie Katz, the executive director of Seeds in the Middle said.

She said the event helps promote local businesses while getting locals out and about in their neighborhood.
"It has a double purpose — to promote local, to boost Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill as a go-to place for food. But also to get the neighborhood people to support their local businesses."
Tickets start at $22 for four taste tickets and $54 for 11 tickets.
