BoCoCa: Help Fight Hunger by Dropping Off Canned Food in Carroll Park

Friends of Carroll Park is running a food drive on each of the next four Saturdays, starting Dec. 17.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — Local community group Friends of Carroll Park will be running a food drive to benefit City Harvest over the next four Saturdays (that's Dec. 17, Dec. 24, Jan. 7 and Jan. 14).

You can donate non-perishable items from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on each of those day at the Carroll Gardens Park House, located in Carroll Park at 219-237 Carroll St.

The food drive is most interested in collecting canned vegetables, peanut butter in plastic jars, packaged macaroni and cheese, and hot and cold cereal in family-sized packages. Organizers say that City Harvest can't accept glass containers, any homemade items, dented cans, or expired food.
