New 7-Story Tower Planned For Columbia Waterfront District

Developers have requested permission to build a seven-unit apartment complex at the intersection of Summit Street and Hamilton Avenue.

BROOKLYN, NY — Developers expanded plans to rezone a section of the Columbia Waterfront District to include another seven-story apartment tower on Summit Street, New York YIMBY reported.

A limited liability company filed plans with the city to rezone 41 Summit St. and build a 65-foot-tall residential building, according to city records and New York YIMBY.

The first plans call for a seven-unit apartment complex to replace the vacant two-story building that currently stands on the lot, YIMBY reported.

These are not the first proposals the city has received this year to rezone the Columbia Waterfront District.

Developers Pilot Real Estate Group and Horrigan Development LLC filed plans in March to rezone nearby lots at 55-63 Summit St. to build up to four residential buildings.

The rezoning application will start the community board review process this year and then move on to the city for approval, city records show.

Construction could finish in 2022 if the plans are approved, New York YIMBY reported.
