Park Slope's 'Mivida Market' Goes From Pop-Up to Permanent on 5th Avenue
Angel Green is a designer, entrepreneur and art appreciator who just opened a permanent store on 5th Avenue.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — After spending six months in a pop-up space on 6th Avenue, Park Slope entrepreneur Angel Green has moved Mivida Market, her "life style boutique," to a permanent space at 219 5th Ave.
Green is from Los Angels, but spent years in Dallas before moving to New York to study fashion design. She also has a background in opening and managing restaurants, she said, but that business was keeping her from spending time with her young daughter.
"I wanted to be with my daughter, and I wanted something that was my own," Green said.

She decided to focus on her love of art and fashion, first opening her pop-up space, and last week swinging open the doors on her first permanent store.
Inside, Mivida offers a mixture of unique arts, crafts, jewelry and clothing that doesn't stick to any particular style.

Green says she seeks out independent producers, explaining, "I'm a small company, and I want to support other small companies, other artisans."
Her space feels like a living gallery. Last week, the walls included work by New York-based artist Jenny Belin, while Green said she was particularly fond of rain boots featuring the painting of artist JPO.
When it comes to clothing, Green said she likes to talk with customers about their personal style, helping them to reassess what they already own and find pieces that can "amp it up." She also explained that "as a single mom, I like to reinvent stuff and save money," and is happy to apply her tailoring skills to anything customers bring in the store.

You can check out some of Mivida's collection on its website, but Green said you'll get a better sense of what's available if you stop in the store.
Mivida is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
