Starz Show Shuts Down After Crew Member Killed On Set In Brooklyn
The man was hit by a Ford Explorer as he placed cones in the parking lane, police said.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN—A 63-year-old production assistant for the Starz show "Power" was killed Monday morning when another crew member hit him with a car, a network spokeswoman has confirmed. The show will shut down production temporarily because of the incident.
Pedro Jimenez, from Manhattan, was putting cones down in the parking lane to get ready for filming when he was hit by a Ford Explorer traveling down the street, police said. The 64-year-old driver, who Starz confirmed was a parking production assistant, stayed at the scene as Jimenez was taken to Brooklyn Hospital and pronounced dead.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,"Starz spokeswoman Lauren Townsend said. "Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”

The show, which stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, has temporarily shut down out of respect for Jimenez and to give time for the cast and crew to process the loss, she said.
The Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
