As far as I'm aware, there is no rule that says picnic foods must be eaten at a picnic. Why, that would be like mandating that hot dogs could only be consumed at the ball park.
So on a recent night I hit the local Union Market and Stinky Bklyn, and indulged in an array of cheeses, crackers, crostini, marinated vegetables, mixed olives and spiced cauliflower.
Then I piled it all on a plate and ate it for dinner--indoors. And it was equally as glorious as it would have been sitting on a blanket. Except, no bugs.
