Power Outage Halts G, F Trains In Brooklyn, MTA Says

F and G trains will stop running through parts of Brooklyn and, for the F, into Manhattan on Tuesday morning after an outage at Bergen St.

COBBLE HILL, BROOKLYN — A power outage at the Bergen Street will stop F and G trains in parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan on Tuesday morning, the MTA announced.

Transit officials said that they will halt parts of both subway lines around 11:30 a.m. for about a half an hour so that they can reboot the power to the signaling system, according to an MTA tweet. The reboot follows a Con Edison power failure near the Bergen Street station in Cobble Hill, officials said.

"We apologize for the disruption this essential maintenance work will cause," officials said.

The outage will mean that G trains will stop running on all but a few stops in Brooklyn and that the F train will not run between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The C train will run on the F line from West 4th Street station to Jay Street MetroTech to help during the service stop, officials said.

The F train halt will mean that service will operate in two segments, one between Second Avenue station in Manhattan and 179th Street and another between Fourth Avenue-9th Street station and Coney Island in Brooklyn. Those trying to get into Manhattan should transfer at Fourth Avenue-9th Street for the R train or use the B61/B57 bus service.

G trains will not be running between Bedford Nostrand avenues and Church Avenue. Straphangers should use the B38 bus service between Bedford-Nostrand and Fulton Street, B57 between Jay Street and Smith-9th Street and the B61 between Smith-9th Street and Fourth Avenue-9th Street, officials said.
