'The Franks' Open Their New Pizzeria In Carroll Gardens
Owners of Frankies 457 Spuntino and Franks Wine Bar officially opened their latest eatery, a slice shop on Court Street, on Tuesday.

CARROLL GARDENS, BROOKLYN — The newest addition to "The Franks" restaurant empire on Court Street is up and running, the restauranteurs announced.
F&F Pizzeria, a slice shop opened by Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli, officially opened its doors at noon on Tuesday, according to the restaurant's Instagram. The pizzeria is set up in a converted garage between Franks Wine Bar and Frankies 457 Spuntino, the other two spots the duo owns on Court Street.
"The Franks" got help opening for the new restaurant through a collaboration with Chris Bianco, who started Pizzeria Bianco in Arizona, and Chad Roberston, owner of California bakery, Tartine. Owners said that the restaurant will offer classic New York slices — for now just cheese, tomato and Sicilian — with a grab-and-go set up.

"The idea is for guests to grab a slice or pie while walking through the neighborhood, but those who wish to hang out can sit in our garden," they write on the website.

The Franks first announced that they would be adding pizza to their Court Street menu last month.

A liquor license for the new eatery was approved by Community Board 6 earlier this month nearly unanimously, records show.
The pair had originally planned on working with Long Island pizza icon Umberto Corteo for the new pizzeria, but the deal fell through. Corteo and The Franks are still on good terms, though, they told the New York Times.
