Sometimes, even the thought of gnocchi makes me feel full. Of course, that doesn't usually stop me from ordering it...
But the menu at Colonie features a twist on gnocchi - called gnudi. Made with ricotta, the gnudi are creamier and less heavy. Served as an appetizer, you get just the right amount, with still room to spare, which is a good thing because the food at Colonie is delicious.
The gnudi are topped with salty and flavorful nicoise olives, baby basil leaves and roasted sweet 100 cherry tomatoes. This may sound like a common dish, but the quality of the ingredients, and of course, the use of gnudi over gnocchi, makes it a standout.
