SEE: Norah Jones' $8M Cobble Hill Townhouse Hits The Market

The "Don't Know Why" singer's Amity Street home comes with a lap pool, garden and five bedrooms.

COBBLE HILL, BROOKLYN — Grammy-winning artist Norah Jones is trading in her luxury Cobble Hill townhouse, which comes complete with a lap pool, hot tub and massive backyard.

The "Don't Know Why" singer-songwriter's home has just hit the market for $8 million, the Wall Street Journal first reported. The listing for the four-story 166 Amity St. home went live very early Tuesday morning.

The 4,500-square-foot townhouse comes complete with a pool Jones put in herself in 2010, a year after she bought the home for $4.9 million. The lap pool sits next to an eight-person hot tub and is part of a 1,440-square-foot backyard that realtors have dubbed "one of the most spectacular backyards in Brownstone Brooklyn."

Inside, the home has at least four fireplaces, a powder room with wood reclaimed from a Vermont barn, a French cocktail bar and five bedrooms, according to the listing. The 1940s piano where Jones wrote many songs is also in the house, but won't be included in the sale, according to the Journal.

Jones, who is the daughter of Indian composer Ravi Shankar, likely is leaving the Cobble Hill house for another Brooklyn home she bought in 2015, the Journal notes.

She told the newspaper that the Amity Street spot gave her a getaway from the Big Apple.

“It’s a very special, warm home,” Jones said. “My hunt for a house with a yard began when I got my dog, Ralph . . . It always felt like an escape from city life. I started my family, made a lot of music and had some truly magical times there.”

The house sits on a block that was recently named the priciest street in Brooklyn and one of the most expensive citywide. Sales on Amity Street were credited with making Cobble Hill the most expensive neighborhood in the borough this year.
