CARROLL GARDENS, NY — Farm-to-table restaurant Sheila's closed their Court Street eatery last week nearly six months after they first opened their doors.

The short-lived bakery, cafe and restaurant — opened by former Franny's worker Colin Clarke — at 412 Court St. served their last meals on Dec. 10, according to a posting on their website first spotted by the blog Pardon Me For Asking.

"Having Sheila's here in Carroll Gardens and in this space has been both the opportunity and challenge of a lifetime," the restaurant wrote on their site. "We are honored to have served you."

Sheila's first opened their doors in May with the concept of selling farm-to-table dishes all-day. The space also had a patio for outdoor seating.

The spot got positive reviews from residents on Yelp and Facebook, and owners hoped it would turn into a neighborhood institution.

"Hopefully, in a year, we’ll look back and I’ll vaguely remember the challenges and anxiety and the pain, but we’ll be like, Sales are up!–and we’ll be cruising," Clarke told The Bridge after they opened.

The restaurant took over the 412 Court St. space from Dover's which closed in January after three years of operation despite high marks from the New York Times.
