Toby's Public House Closes Carroll Garden Pizza Bar

The pizza bar, which previously owned locations in Park Slope and Nolita, closed its last outpost in Carroll Gardens, ABC 7 reported.

CARROLL GARDENS, NY — The bar and pizza spot Toby's Public House, which previously owned three locations around the city, closed their last outpost in Carroll Gardens after less than a year in business, ABC 7 reported.

The short-lived 215 Columbia St. pizza bar closed their doors for good last month after the owner failed to pay contractors thousands of dollars for remodeling the shop, according to ABC 7.

The owner of Toby's Public House did not respond to an email about the closure from Patch and the phone number for the eatery was disconnected.

Toby's Public House first opened on Sixth Avenue in 2008 in Park Slope and became well-known for its Bufalina wood-fired pie, the Gothamist reported. The eatery later opened an outpost in Nolita in 2012, according to the Bowery Boogie.

The Nolita spot shuttered its doors in 2015 but the eatery expanded again with the Carroll Gardens location opening in June 2017, the Gothamist reported. The store was forced to shutter their original Park Slope location in December after their 686 Sixth Ave. landlords did not renew their lease, Bklyner reported.
