The end is nigh, if we are to trust aerial footage captured Tuesday morning by pretty much every TV news station in New York.
In it, we see an unthinkably large sinkhole swallowing the Fifth Avenue-64th Street intersection in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, near the Gowanus Expressway and the border with Bay Ridge.

There appear to be some FDNY responders taping off the area and staring, a little overwhelmed, into the sinkhole that swallowed a Sunset Park intersection.
No injuries have been reported.

UPDATE: AMNY reports that traffic has been blocked off between 63rd and 65th streets and between Fifth and Sixth avenues. The N Train is reportedly running slower than usual as a precaution, although MTA officials don’t believe the sinkhole has threatened the underground subway system.
