Car Explodes Into Flames On Sunrise Highway, 3 Injured
The car was found in the woods fully engulfed in flames, fire officials said.

CENTER MORICHES, NY — Three people were injured when a car burst into flames after a Sunrise Highway crash Tuesday, officials said.
According to the Center Moriches Fire Department, at 6:44 a.m. firefighters and EMTs were called to the scene of a crash with injuries on Sunrise Highway just west of the Moriches Middle Island Road overpass.

Firefighters arrived to find one vehicle, that had careened into the woods, fully ablaze; the driver of the vehicle was able to escape with minor injuries before the vehicle burst into flames, fire officials said.
While firefighters worked to extinguish the car fire, EMTs and paramedics from Center Moriches Fire Department Ambulance treated and transported three individuals from two separate vehicles to a local hospital for further evaluation, officials said.

Firefighters were back in service within 30 minutes, officials said.
