There were meals cooked up with love in Moriches recently as cops and kids joined hands and hearts to feed the hungry.

MORICHES, NY — They were meals served up with love recently as cops and kids joined hands and hearts to feed the hungry.

Students in the William Floyd Middle School National Junior Honor Society recently collaborated with Suffolk County Police Department 7th Precinct Officers Denise Wirbickas and James Anson for a “Cooking with Cops” community service event.

Together, the officers and students prepared meals consisting of pasta, dinner rolls and cookies that were delivered to a local shelter — feeding 27 hungry members of the local community.
