Eastport Olympian Making Hometown Proud

Watch the first-time Olympian compete for a gold medal on Wednesday, Feb. 14

EASTPORT, NY — His hometown will be cheering on Valentine's Day Wednesday as Justin Krewson, 21, of Eastport competes in the doubles luge event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, with his partner Andrew Sherk.

Krewson is slated to slide down an icy track for the win on Wednesday in two runs, beginning at 6:20 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. (EST).

According to his TeamUSA bio, it's the first go-round at the Olympics for Krewson, who has World Championship experience in 2015, 2016, 2017. He placed 6th in the 2017 Lake Placid World Cup to secure his Olympic berth, was a 2014 Norton Junior National Champion, and won silver medals in team relays at both the Junior World Championship in Igls, Austria and in the Oberhof, Germany Junior World Cup.

He is also a member of the Lake Placid Fire Department and became an Eagle Scout in August, 2014, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 221 in Manorville. He's also enrolled in the Lincoln Electric Welding School in Cleveland, OH, his bio said.
