Eastport-South Manor Student Honored For Giving Back

EASTPORT, NY — An Eastport-South Manor High School senior was lauded for her "incredible commitment to community service," Senator Anthony Palumbo said.

Palumbo awarded Anika Griffing the New York State Youth Leadership Recognition Award for community service, he said.

The New York State Youth Leadership Recognition Awards recognize students who showcase outstanding achievements and volunteer efforts within their community and beyond, he said. Anika has amassed a long list of volunteer efforts, which led to her nomination for the prestigious award from teacher Leticia Rozul, Palumbo said.
