Folkie Fest: Celebrating “This Land is Your Land” Turning 80

Folkie Fest offers an ongoing concert series with local acoustic artists in the spirit of folk music as envisioned by the late Pete Seeger. We provide a listening space and support live, local singer/songwriters sharing their work. This is an extraordinarily brilliant group of singer/songwriters performing heartfelt songs. Not your parent’s folk! Powerful original music performed by talented artists in a listening space. Music moves your soul… brings the emotions of life to the surface.

Artists receive a small monetary compensation, the bulk of the proceeds from the concerts are donated to Moriches Community Center to support their programs. There is also a 50/50 raffle, proceeds donated to Long Island Cares: The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Join us on February 23rd. in celebration of Woody Guthrie's iconic song "This Land is Your Land" turning 80. Performing for us is Bill Scorzari, Tom Ghent, Maria Fairchild, Bryan Gallo and Kathy Patterson. Each perform a set of original music, some may include a cover of a familiar tune that goes with the theme of the concert.
