Man Smashes Door Of LI Pizzeria, Steals Register: Police

EASTPORT, NY — Police are searching for the man who smashed the door of a popular Eastport pizzeria and stole the cash register, authorities said.

According to Suffolk County Police, a man used a hammer to break the front glass door at Michelangelo Pizzeria on Eastport Manor Road on May 2 at 2:33 a.m. He stole the register and fled in a dark-colored Dodge Ram pickup truck with gold New York license plates, police said.
