Motorcyclist Killed In Center Moriches Crash: Cops

The Selden man died after the crash, when he struck a guardrail, police say.

CENTER MORICHES, NY — A Selden man died in a motorcycle crash in Center Moriches Sunday, police said.

According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place on Montauk Highway just east of the intersection of Belleview Avenue at 3 p.m. Jason Frederick, 44, was driving a 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Montauk Highway when he veered off the roadway and struck the guardrail, police said.

Frederick was transported by Center Moriches Fire Department ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is ongoing; anyone with information is asked to call detectives at the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
