Folkie Fest and Moriches Community Center are teaming up to raise funds for the purchase of a sound system for the community center. The Community Center plans to host open mics to nurture the talents of young local talent. The Community Center has been providing a space for the original music series, Folkie Fest for the past year.
This concert will showcase an eclectic mix of familiar tunes with some original works as well. Performing will be Chris Cangeleri and Jerry Wilder; Henry and Kristi Diaz; Breaking Dawn Acoustic; James O’Malley and Kerry Kearney with special guest, Little Strummin’ Kate; with Bob Westcott acting as emcee. Surely something for everyone!
There will be raffle baskets with donated prizes from local businesses. One raffle prize is a collection of CDs donated by various artists who have participated in some of the Folkie Fest concerts. You can bring the music home with you!
