Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island
The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the island. Plus a look at the holiday weekend forecast.

The National Weather Service issued the following special weather statement for the region Thursday night:
The combination of light onshore winds and increasing low level moisture ahead of a warm front has resulted in the formation of fog across the area. Visibilities of 1 mile or less are expected to prevail through the overnight hours. Locally dense fog is also possible, especially on Long Island and along coastal Connecticut.
