Town Board Honors Center Moriches Boys Soccer Team, NYS Champions

CENTER MORICHES-EASTPORT, NY - From The Town of Brookhaven: At the November 30 Brookhaven Town Board meeting, Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Dan Panico, and fellow board members honored the Center Moriches High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team – the Red Devils – and their coaches, for being named New State Champions, Class B. The team made school history with an undefeated pre-and post-season record, with an overall 23-0 record. The Red Devils claimed the title of Class B Champs when they beat Ichabod Crane High School 4-0 during the final championship game played on Sunday, November 12. In addition, Varsity Soccer Coach Chris O’Brien was named Coach of the Year. The Town Board presented the team and Coach O’Brien with official Town proclamations, in special recognition of their outstanding accomplishments.
