(Patch file photo )

Spring is apparently on hiatus as wind chill temperatures fell into the 30s on Long Island Sunday and the start of work week also promises to be cold, wet and miserable.

Much of the island saw more than an inch of rainfall on Sunday, according to National Weather Service reports.

A coastal flood advisory will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m Monday in southern Nassau County. Minor flooding is also possible in southwestern Suffolk County overnight.
