Central Park Bicyclist Mugged By Group Of Teens, Police Say

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A bicyclist riding through Central Park was attacked and robbed by a group of teenagers, police said.

A 33-year-old man was riding an electric bike on East Drive near East 60th Street on the night of April 13 when he was approached by a "large group" of teenagers on skateboards and bikes, police said. When the man tried to pass the group, one of the teenagers kicked a skateboard into his bike, causing him to fall to the ground, police said.

One of the other teenagers went through the man's pockets and stole his phone while he was still on the ground, police said. The group also stole the man's electric bicycle.

The teenagers were last seen entering the PATH train station at West 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue heading toward New Jersey, police said. Police released a photo of the teenagers hopping over the turnstiles of the station with several skateboards and bikes in hand.
