Central Park Boathouse Reopens Following Renovation, Report Says

The Central Park restaurant returns just in time for Spring.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — The Central Park Boathouse is reopening just in time for peak park season after a $2.9 million renovation, according to reports.

The restaurant — also referred to as the Loeb Boathouse — will open for the first time in three months Saturday, the New York Post first reported. The eatery, located near the park's Fifth Avenue and East 72nd Street entrance, received upgrades including a color scheme to better fit in with its scenic backdrop and new furniture, finishes and lighting, according to the report.

Dean Poll took over the restaurant in 2000 and told the Post that renovations were needed because the boathouse "was tired after 18 years." Poll is also required to invest $6 million in capital improvements to the venue due to a licencing agreement with the city, the Post reported.
