Dead Body Found Near Central Park Pool, Police Say

CENTRAL PARK, NY — The NYPD is investigating the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday near Central Park's public pool, police said.

The body was discovered shortly after 10:30 a.m. near Lasker Pool and East 106th Street in the northeast corner of Central Park, police said. The man was unconscious, unresponsive and suffering from a head injury.

EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said. The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and rule on the man's official cause of death.

The NYPD did not identify the man because family members were not notified, police said.
