Banksy Tags Chelsea Building
The prolific street artist painted a small rat in a clock face on a building at 14th Street and Sixth Avenue.

CHELSEA, NY — The graffiti artist Banksy is back in New York City.
The prolific artist and activist tagged the face of a clock on a 14th Street building on Wednesday, according to his Instagram. Curbed first reported on Banksy's return to Manhattan.
Banksy drew a scurrying rat inside the face of a clock mounted on the building at 101 W. 14th St. The vacant building is slated to be demolished and replaced with a 13-story apartment building. Plans filed with the city show that the building is expected to bring at least 45 new apartments to the neighborhood.

Banksy has worked for years as an anonymous street artist, tagging buildings and painting murals in cities throughout the world, many of them as part of a broader campaign. In October 2013, Banksy embarked on a series called "Better Out Than In," featuring a series of small works throughout the city.
