Blue-Haired Attacker Sought In Chelsea Anti-Asian Assault: NYPD

The man punched his victim and made an anti-Asian statement, police said.

CHELSEA, NY – A blue-haired attacker punched a man in the head in Chelsea in yet another anti-Asian attack being investigated by the NYPD.

The attack happened at 4:20 p.m. on May 22 at 26th Street and Broadway. Video of the incident was released by the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force Friday.

The attacker, seen in the video with bright blue dreadlocks, hit the man in the head before making an anti-Asian statement and fleeing, police said.

The man was wearing neon yellow pants and a sleeveless t-shirt, police said.

A spate of anti-Asian attacks have been reported in the city during recent months.
