Chelsea Woman Sues Sex Shop For Condom-Clogged Drains: Report
The Chelsea woman alleges the sex shop is responsible for six inches of sewage floods in the basement of her townhome.

CHELSEA — A Chelsea woman claims a neighboring sex shop caused their shared sewer system to clog with condoms and other items, flooding her townhouse with feces and other sewage fluids, the New York Post reported.
Now, the paper reports, the lawyer and playwright Susan Haar is suing Sexy Boutique and its owners.
On Nov. 15, Haar claims in a lawsuit that her townhouse at 304 W. 18th St. was flooded with sewage from the shower drains and toilet, according to the Post. Her basement filled with six inches of sewage and soaked six feet up the walls with "feces, sludge and other waste," the lawsuit said.

"Ongoing debris removed has included cigar wraps, rages, sanitary wipes, straws, clumps of condoms and even a plastic water bottle," the lawsuit said, citing a cease and desist letter dated in Jan. 14, 2019.
The lawsuit said Department of Environmental Protection bigwigs used red dye in the sex shop's sinks to see if the dye turned up in Haar's townhome. Sure enough, the dye was found coming up through the Haar's floor, the Post reported.

Haar had attempted to sell her townhouse, which was listed at $7 million, the paper said. She wants the Sexy Boutique, located at 155 8th Ave., owners to pay $2 million in damages and disconnect their shared sewage line.
Haar declined to comment because the litigation is still pending. Sexy Boutique could not immediately be reached.
